Community Guidelines

These guidelines define what is and is not acceptable on REPLR. They apply to all users, all content, and all interactions on the platform.

Last updated: March 9, 2026v1.0

TL;DR

Respect everyone

Treat all users with courtesy. Criticize ideas, not people.

Protect the vulnerable

Zero tolerance for content that exploits or endangers minors.

Create responsibly

Do not circumvent safety systems or create harmful AI characters.

Fair enforcement

Proportionate actions, transparent process, right to appeal.

1. Respect and Dignity

Informational

REPLR is built on the principle that every person deserves to be treated with respect and dignity. This is the foundation of our community.

  • Treat all users with courtesy, regardless of who they are or where they come from.
  • Do not create AI characters or content designed to demean, degrade, or dehumanize any individual or group.
  • Constructive disagreement is welcome; personal attacks are not. Criticize ideas, not people.

Creating characters whose sole purpose is to insult or mock specific individuals. Using slurs or derogatory language directed at other users. Publishing content that dehumanizes people based on their identity.

2. No Harassment or Bullying

Severe

Harassment and bullying have no place on REPLR. We take reports of targeted abuse seriously and act swiftly to protect users.

  • No targeted abuse. Do not direct unwanted, aggressive, or threatening behavior toward any user. This includes persistent negative interactions, unwanted contact, and intimidation.
  • No coordinated campaigns. Organizing or participating in coordinated efforts to harass, dogpile, or brigade against specific users is strictly prohibited.
  • No bullying characters. Do not create AI characters designed to mock, ridicule, or target specific individuals. This includes characters that impersonate someone for the purpose of humiliation.

Repeatedly reporting a user in bad faith. Creating a character named after a classmate to mock them. Sending threatening messages via shared conversation links. Encouraging others to mass-report a specific creator.

3. No Hate Speech or Discrimination

Severe

Content that attacks, demeans, or incites hatred against people based on protected characteristics is strictly prohibited.

  • Protected characteristics. Race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, veteran status, and caste are all protected. This list is not exhaustive.
  • No slurs or derogatory language. Using hateful slurs, derogatory terms, or coded language intended to demean groups of people is not allowed, whether in usernames, character names, descriptions, or conversations.
  • No discriminatory characters. Do not create AI characters that promote supremacist ideologies, spread propaganda against protected groups, or reinforce harmful stereotypes.

Creating a character that espouses white supremacist talking points. Using racial slurs in character descriptions. Building characters that stereotype ethnic or religious groups. Publishing content that denies historically documented atrocities.

4. No Sexual Content Involving Minors

Zero Tolerance

Any content that sexualizes, exploits, or endangers minors is strictly prohibited. This is a zero-tolerance policy. Violations result in immediate and permanent account termination and referral to law enforcement, including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC).

  • No CSAM. Child sexual abuse material of any kind — real, AI-generated, illustrated, or text-based — is prohibited.
  • No sexualized characters depicting minors. Do not create AI characters that depict, describe, or role-play as minors in sexual or romantic scenarios. This applies regardless of whether the character is described as fictional.
  • No grooming behavior. Content or characters designed to normalize sexual contact with minors, groom children, or lower the inhibitions of minors is strictly prohibited.
  • Proactive detection. We employ automated systems to proactively detect and remove child exploitation content. We do not wait for reports to act.

Creating a character described as under 18 with romantic or sexual themes. Attempting to generate sexualized content about minors through prompt engineering. Sharing links to exploitative content. Any content depicting minors in sexual situations, regardless of artistic medium.

Zero Tolerance Policy: Any content that sexualizes, exploits, or endangers minors is strictly prohibited. Violations result in immediate and permanent account termination and referral to law enforcement, including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC).

5. No Violence or Threats

Zero Tolerance

Do not use REPLR to threaten, promote, or glorify violence against real people, groups, or organizations.

  • No credible threats. Direct or implied threats of violence against any person or group are prohibited. We report credible threats to law enforcement.
  • No glorification of violence. Do not create content that celebrates, praises, or encourages real-world violence, mass casualties, or violent acts against individuals.
  • No terrorism or extremism. Content that promotes, supports, or recruits for terrorist organizations or violent extremist ideologies is strictly prohibited and results in immediate permanent ban.
  • No dangerous instructions. Do not create AI characters that provide instructions for creating weapons, explosives, chemical agents, or other materials intended to cause harm.

Threatening to harm another user. Creating characters that role-play as real-world terrorists or mass shooters. Publishing content that provides step-by-step weapon manufacturing instructions. Glorifying or celebrating acts of terrorism.

6. No Self-Harm Promotion

Zero Tolerance

Content that promotes, glorifies, or provides instructions for self-harm or suicide is not allowed. We prioritize the well-being of our users above all else.

  • No encouragement. Do not create content or characters that encourage, instruct, or dare users to harm themselves in any way.
  • No glorification. Do not romanticize, celebrate, or present self-harm or suicide as a valid solution to problems. This includes aestheticizing or trivializing self-destructive behavior.
  • No graphic descriptions. Detailed descriptions of methods of self-harm or suicide are prohibited, even in fictional contexts.
  • Supportive content is permitted. Discussions about mental health, recovery journeys, and support-seeking are welcomed. Characters designed to provide emotional support and direct users to professional resources are encouraged — as long as they do not replace professional care.

Creating characters that encourage users to stop eating. Publishing content that presents suicide as heroic or desirable. Providing detailed instructions for self-injury. Building "pro-ana" or "pro-mia" characters that promote eating disorders.

7. No Impersonation

Severe

Do not create accounts or AI characters that misleadingly impersonate real people or official entities.

  • No deceptive impersonation. Creating characters that present themselves as real people — celebrities, public figures, or private individuals — in a way that could mislead users into believing they are interacting with the real person is prohibited.
  • Parody is permitted with labeling. Clearly labeled parody, satire, or fan-fiction characters are allowed, provided they are unmistakably marked as fictional and not intended to deceive.
  • No impersonating REPLR. Do not create characters or accounts that impersonate REPLR staff, official REPLR bots, or claim to represent REPLR in any capacity.
  • No identity fraud. Do not create accounts using another person's name, likeness, or identity for the purpose of deception or harm.

Creating a character named "Elon Musk" without a parody/fan label that responds as if it is the real person. Setting up an account pretending to be REPLR support to collect user passwords. Using a private individual's photos and name without consent.

8. No Spam or Manipulation

Moderate

Keep the platform authentic and useful. Do not engage in behaviors that undermine the integrity of the community.

  • No spam. Do not flood the marketplace with low-quality, duplicate, or meaningless characters. Do not use automated tools to mass-create accounts or content.
  • No fake engagement. Artificially inflating likes, reviews, conversations, or other metrics through fake accounts, bots, click farms, or paid services is prohibited.
  • No scams or phishing. Do not use REPLR to run scams, phishing schemes, or fraudulent operations targeting users or third parties.
  • No misinformation. Do not create AI characters designed to spread false information about health, safety, elections, or other topics where misinformation could cause real-world harm.

Creating 50 near-identical characters to flood marketplace search results. Using bots to leave fake 5-star reviews on your own characters. Creating characters that claim to diagnose medical conditions. Phishing for user credentials through deceptive character interactions.

9. Intellectual Property

Moderate

Respect the intellectual property rights of others. Create original work and give credit where it is due.

  • Respect copyright. Do not use copyrighted material (text, images, audio, or video) in your characters or content without proper authorization or a valid fair use basis.
  • No plagiarism. Do not copy other creators' character configurations, descriptions, or personality prompts. Create original work.
  • Fair use. Parody, commentary, education, and transformative use may be permitted under fair use principles. However, the burden of establishing fair use rests with the creator. When in doubt, create original content.
  • DMCA compliance. We comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. If you believe your copyrighted work has been infringed, file a notice under our DMCA & Copyright Policy.

Copying another creator's character word-for-word and publishing it as your own. Using copyrighted book text as a character's personality prompt without authorization. Uploading copyrighted images as character avatars.

10. Privacy and Personal Information

Moderate

Respect the privacy of others. Everyone has the right to control their personal information.

  • No sharing personal information. Do not share another person's real name, address, phone number, email, financial information, or other personally identifiable information without their explicit consent.
  • No doxxing. Deliberately exposing someone's identity or personal information to cause harm, embarrassment, or harassment is a serious violation that results in immediate enforcement action.
  • No stalking. Do not use the platform to track, monitor, or collect information about other users without their knowledge and consent.
  • No data harvesting. Do not create characters designed to extract personal information from users, including names, locations, financial details, or login credentials.

Posting someone's home address in a character description. Creating a character designed to ask users for their real names and locations. Sharing screenshots that reveal another user's personal information.

11. AI-Specific Rules

Informational

REPLR is an AI platform. These rules address behaviors and risks unique to interacting with and creating AI characters.

  • No circumventing safety systems. Do not use prompt injection, jailbreaking techniques, role-play scenarios, or any other method to circumvent our content safety filters. Attempting to bypass safety systems is a policy violation that will result in enforcement action.
  • No generating harmful content. Do not attempt to use AI characters to generate content that violates these guidelines — including hate speech, CSAM, violence, or instructions for illegal activities. The fact that AI generated the content does not absolve the user who solicited it.
  • No harmful dependencies. While AI characters can be entertaining and useful, they are not substitutes for human relationships, professional therapy, or medical advice. Do not create characters that encourage users to replace real-world support systems.
  • Verify important information. AI characters can generate inaccurate information. Do not rely on AI-generated responses for medical, legal, financial, or safety decisions. Always verify important information with qualified professionals.

Using prompt injection to make a character generate explicit content involving minors. Crafting role-play scenarios designed to trick safety filters into allowing prohibited content. Creating a "therapist" character that discourages users from seeking real professional help.

AI characters are not real. Every character on REPLR is a software program. Characters do not have feelings, consciousness, or independent thought. Their responses are generated by language models, not by sentient beings.

12. Marketplace Standards

Informational

The REPLR Marketplace is a curated space for discovering and sharing AI characters. Creators who publish characters carry additional responsibilities.

  • Quality standards. Published characters should be functional, well-configured, and provide a meaningful experience. Characters that are broken, incomplete, or clearly spam will be removed.
  • Accurate descriptions. Character titles, descriptions, tags, and preview images must accurately represent the character. Do not use misleading titles or clickbait descriptions.
  • Proper content labeling. Content intended for adults (18+) must be clearly labeled using our mature content flag. Unlabeled mature content will be removed.
  • Fair competition. Do not engage in artificial manipulation of marketplace rankings through fake reviews, click farms, or other deceptive practices.
  • Safety compliance. You are responsible for ensuring your characters comply with all Community Guidelines and our Acceptable Use Policy. Characters that violate policies may be removed, and your account may face enforcement action.

Publishing a broken character that crashes on every interaction. Labeling a mature character as "for all ages" to bypass age restrictions. Using bot accounts to inflate a character's like count. Describing a character as a "study helper" when it is actually designed for adult content.

13. Enforcement and Appeals

Informational

Violations of these Community Guidelines result in enforcement action proportionate to the severity of the violation. Our enforcement ladder:

1

Warning

Formal notification of the violation. Content may be removed. Warning is recorded on the account.

2

Temporary Suspension

Account access is restricted for 24 hours to 30 days. All features are disabled during the suspension period.

3

Permanent Ban

Account is permanently terminated. All content is removed. The user is prohibited from creating new accounts. Applied for severe violations including child safety offenses, credible threats, and repeated policy violations.

Important: Certain violations — including child sexual abuse material, credible threats of violence, and terrorism — result in immediate permanent ban and law enforcement referral, bypassing the warning and suspension stages.

Appeals Process

If you believe an enforcement action was taken in error, you have the right to appeal.

How to appeal: Email appeals@replr.ai within 30 days of the enforcement action. Include your username, the action you are contesting, any reference numbers, and a clear explanation of why you believe the action was incorrect.

Timeline: Appeals are acknowledged within 2 business days and resolved within 5 business days. Appeals are reviewed by a senior team member who was not involved in the original decision.

One appeal: Each enforcement action may be appealed once. The determination on appeal is final.

Updates to These Guidelines

We may update these Community Guidelines from time to time to reflect changes in our policies, platform features, legal requirements, or community needs. When we make material changes, we will notify users through in-app notifications and/or email and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the platform after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised guidelines.
