What is REPLR?
REPLR is a platform where people can create and interact with AI companions — characters powered by artificial intelligence that can hold conversations, remember context, and respond with distinct personalities.
Users can chat with AI characters created by others in our marketplace, or build their own. AI characters can serve as creative writing partners, study helpers, language practice partners, and more. It is important to understand that these are AI programs, not real people.
REPLR is designed for entertainment, creativity, and productivity. We take active steps to ensure conversations stay safe and appropriate.
Age Requirements
REPLR has clear age requirements to protect younger users:
General access
Users must be at least 13 years old to create an account and use the platform. Users under 13 are not permitted.
Mature content
Some AI characters are marked as mature and are only accessible to users who are 18 or older. Age-gated content is clearly labeled and restricted by our systems.
We implement age verification during registration and may request additional verification at any time. Accounts that misrepresent their age are immediately terminated.
What Parents Should Know
Here are the key things to understand about your child's experience on REPLR:
- AI characters are not real people. Every conversation your child has on REPLR is with an AI program. There is no person on the other end.
- Conversations are private by default. Your child's conversations are not publicly visible. However, as a parent or guardian, you have the right to request access to your minor child's account data.
- Content is moderated. We use automated systems and human review to detect and remove inappropriate content. Younger users have additional content restrictions applied automatically.
- There are social features. Users can share AI characters they create in a public marketplace. They can also share conversation links. All shared content is subject to moderation.
- We do not show third-party ads. REPLR does not display advertising to users. Revenue comes from subscription plans and marketplace transactions.

We provide tools for parents and guardians to help manage their child's experience on REPLR:
Content Filters
Accounts for users under 18 have enhanced content filtering enabled by default. Mature AI characters, explicit content, and age-restricted marketplace listings are automatically blocked.
Activity Monitoring
Parents and guardians can request a summary of their minor child's activity on the platform, including which AI characters they interact with and how frequently they use the platform.
Usage Limits
You can request that daily or weekly usage limits be applied to your child's account by contacting our support team. This helps manage screen time and engagement.
Character Restrictions
You can request that certain categories of AI characters be blocked from your child's account. We can restrict access by content type or specific characters.
How to Review Your Child's Activity
As a parent or guardian of a minor user, you have the right to review your child's account activity. Here is how:
Send a request
Email safety@replr.ai with the subject line "Parental Activity Review Request."
Include account details
Provide your child's username or email address, along with your name and relationship to the child.
Identity verification
We will verify your identity and relationship to the account holder. This may require documentation such as a government ID and proof of guardianship.
Receive activity summary
Once verified, we will provide you with a summary of your child's account activity within 5 business days.
How to Restrict or Delete Your Child's Account
If you want to limit your child's access or remove their account entirely, you have several options:
Restrict the account
Contact us at safety@replr.ai to request specific restrictions on your child's account, such as disabling marketplace access, voice features, or social features. We will apply the requested restrictions after verifying your identity.
Delete the account
To permanently delete your child's account and all associated data, send a request to safety@replr.ai with the subject line "Minor Account Deletion Request." After identity verification, we will delete the account and all data within 30 days, in compliance with applicable data protection laws.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is REPLR free? Are there in-app purchases?
REPLR offers a free tier with basic features. Paid subscription plans unlock additional capabilities such as longer conversations, premium AI characters, and creator tools. All purchases require account-level authorization. There are no loot boxes or randomized purchases.
Can my child talk to other people on REPLR?
All conversations on REPLR are between a user and an AI character — not between users. There is no direct messaging, chat rooms, or live communication between users. Social features are limited to sharing AI characters in the marketplace and sharing conversation links.
How does REPLR verify my child's age?
Users provide their date of birth during registration. We use this to determine age-appropriate content access. Accounts flagged as potentially underage may be asked for additional verification. We also accept reports from the community about suspected underage users.
What data does REPLR collect from my child?
We collect the minimum data necessary to provide the service: email address, date of birth, and conversation data. We do not collect location data, contacts, or photos without explicit action by the user. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.
Can AI characters ask my child for personal information?
Our safety systems are designed to prevent AI characters from soliciting personal information such as real names, addresses, phone numbers, or photos. If an AI character does ask for personal information, it should be reported immediately so we can investigate and take action.
How do I contact REPLR about a safety concern?
Email safety@replr.ai with your concern. You do not need a REPLR account to contact us. For urgent matters involving child safety, use the subject line "URGENT: Child Safety" and we will prioritize your request.
